X, Sue Grafton, 2015
More silliness from the queen of the alphabet mysteries. Grafton has created a terrific character in Kinsey Millhone, but the need to develop 24 new plots for Kinsey has pushed Grafton to the edge of capability. This one features at least three different plot lines, none of which are credible, and doesn’t warrant a recap. Suffice it to say that a serial killer, a pair of octogenarian house squatters, and a wealthy divorced couple and their JMW Turner oil painting don’t make for a great read.
