The Shepherd’s View: Modern Photographs from an Ancient Landscape, James Rebanks, 2016
Rebanks first book about shepherding won a NYT Top Ten Book of the Year in 2015 and this book is a worthy accompaniment. While the first one was more of a primer on the Yorkshire countryside and shepherding, this one is full of beautiful photographs of the landscape, the sheep, and some old black and whites of the people. Rebanks is a lyrical writer whether he’s focused on his dogs, the landscape, the sheep, or the work. A lovely book to curl up with on a winter’s afternoon (good nap reading as well!).
