The Bridge, Robert Knott/Robert B. Parker, 2014
Another instance of Parker’s successor coming close, but not quite getting the dialogue exactly right. This is a rather thin tale of a bridge being blown up, financial chicanery between a pastor, an accountant, and a contractor, and some real bad men killing good men. The good news is that Virgil Cole and Everett Hitch come through once again though Everett is nearly killed in the process. A strange, fortune teller and a travelling ,snake oil salesmen make major cameo appearances. I need to stop reading Parker’s successors!
