Rogue Lawyer, John Grisham, 2015

This was my first Grisham in dozens of years and it was a fun read.  His bizarre characters, plot twists, and very weird actions made me laugh in place and sped up my heart rate in places.  Sebastian Rudd is the eponymous character who makes his living defending murderers, serial killers, and organized crime figures generating the hatred of the good guys and bad guys alike, hence his need for a large protector named Partner.  The secondary story involves his bitchy wife and her Lesbian partner who care for Sebastian’s son, who manages to get kidnapped as part of a deal to find the grave of another minor character. Exhausting, but good fun.
