Backflash, Richard Stark (aka Donald Westlake) 1997

Parker is at it again and mayhem ensues.  After a botched scam involving rockets and cash, Parker holes up in his lakeside retreat until he is contacted by Cathman, a weird NY state bureaucrat with an antipathy to the new gambling casino on the Hudson.  He helps Parker and his three associates set up a robbery on the casino ship which nets them $400K, but also a heap of trouble.  By the time Parker rides into the sunset with his share, there are at least six dead bodies in various parts of upstate New York.  Another superb Parker book filled with clever plot details and enough suspense to keep the pages turning.
