Another Elvis Cole, Joe Pike, John Stone adventure in which the three of them perform super-human acts of detection and bravery to overcome a murderous group of bandeleros who kidnap illegal immigrants and hold them for ransom.  In this case, the grandson of a Korean gang leader from LA and two innocent Americanos get swept up in the kidnappers net along with the ususal illegals.  It’s a bloody ending, but the world’s greatest detective fulfills his promise to Krista’s mother and Jack Berman’s aunt and everyone important survives.  A good read.
