Dalton writes a stream of consciousness biography of Bob Dylan, the ultimate ghost from birth in Duluth in 1941 to growing up in Hibbing, moving to Greenwich Village, traveling around the US to visit Carl Sandburg among others.  Mutable, reflecting the chaos of America in the late 20^th, Dylan the poet and cultural interpreter is well described though not captured in this book.  A good place to start if you want to listen to his 28 albums that span our lifetime, from 1962 to 1997.
