Walking Between Homes
We’ve been visiting Brownsville, Vermont since 1987 when we bought a 180 year old farmhouse on a dirt road. We’ve been living in Cambridge, Masschusetts since 2004 when we moved from our old Victorian home in Newton. We’ve done the drive from Cambridge to Brownsville and back hundreds of times, so it occured to me that this approximately 130 mile one way trip might be fun to walk; hence, the Cambridge to Brownsville or vice versa Project began.
As of this date, May 19, 2025, I’ve now completed 8 segments of this walk as follows:
- 23 Willard Street to Concord, MA: November, 2019 16.5 miles
- Concord, MA to Ayer, MA: March, 2020 15.2 miles
- Ayer, MA to Fitchburg, MA: ? date, 12.5 miles
- Brownsville, VT to Springfield, VT: November 22, 2020 17.8 miles
- Springfield, VT to Saxtons River, VT: May, 2022, 12.1 miles
- Saxtons River, VT to Walpole, NH: June 15, 2022 10 miles
- Fitchburg, MA to Ashburnham, MA: May 14, 2025 12.o miles
- Ashburnham, MA to Fitzwilliam, NH: May 15, 2025 17.2 miles
Stay tuned for completion of this project.
