The Outside Story, ed. Chuck Wooster 2007

Subtitled, local writers explore the nature of New Hampshire and Vermont’, this nicely illustrated volume is one in my series of ‘through the year books’. Finishing today with August and its articles about grouse, honeybees, trout and warming brooks, reading the 1938 hurricane forest, ambush bugs, and to tell crickets from grasshoppers, this is an excellent way to learn Vermont natural history and increase your awareness of our outside world.
