The Hound of the Baskervilles, Arthur Conan Doyle, 1902

Doyle’s classic Sherlock Holmes/Dr. Watson tale of the Devonshire moors and the curse of the Baskerville family in which Holmes uses his scientific method to catch the murderer of Sir John Baskerville and the attempted murder of his nephew Sir Henry by an alienated relative who wants the Baskerville estate.  Great fun in the fog and damp, dark of the moors.
