The Fifth Witness, Michael Connelly 2011

An excellent addition to Connelly’s ouevre, as Mickey Haller, the Lincoln lawyer, uses his foreclosure defense practice to land a major media murder case, the hammer-to-the-head killing of a foreclosing banker by a foreclosed client.  Haller wins a courtroom victory but loses his way with his client—the usual strong supporting case—ex-wife, investigator, and a new junior associate.  Good summer read.
