The Christmas Carol, Charles Dickens, 1843

Dickens immortal tale of Ebenezer Scrooge, visited by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future and changing from the eponymous grasping, nasty, isolated old man into a loving uncle, empathetic employer, and generous man.  Very funny in places and still a gripping good read after 170 years!  Deservedly a classic from Old Boz.
