Saving Tarboo Creek: One Family’s Quest to Heal the Land, Scott Freeman, 2018

A quite wonderful book by Aldo Leopolds grandson-in-law who describes his family’s attempts to return Tarboo Creek, damaged by clear cutting, stream damming and straightening, and neglect to its original salmon run status.  Freeman, a professor at Washington State University where he has won a Distinguished Teacher Award, is a superb explicator of ecology, evolution, extinction, and the importance of leaving a small footprint if we are to save our earth.  Well-written, full of interesting information, and beautifully illustrated by his wife, this is a fine book for anyone interested in helping the Earth heal and survive for all of our benefit.
