Mindfulness, Meditation, and Mind Fitness, Joel and Michelle Levey, 2015
This is an excellent book about meditation for both the beginner and the experienced meditator. While occasionally leaning towards name-dropping and sometimes a bit over the top with ‘love the whole universe, save the whole universe’, the book is full of practical suggestions on how to make a daily meditation practice a part of one’s life. Chapters are organized around five categories of meditation: concentration, mindfulness, heart-centered, reflective, and creative. A focus on attention, intention, and attitude pervades all the categories, and specific mantras and foci are provided. I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in exploring meditation. The concept of mind-fitness is presented and I’ve found that to be very useful.
