Madame Maigret’s Own Case, Georges Simenon, 1959
Maigret and his wife become unintentionally entangled in a case which involves printing false identification, murder of a Countess, and a 2 year old left with Madame Maigret in a park. The pieces which don’t appear to have any relationship to one another fall into place neatly at the end and one bad guy is caught and the other, a clown, commits suicide. Another fascinating trip through Paris of the 1950’s.
