Killing Rain by Barry Eisler 2005

This is the sixth in the 15 book series of thrillers featuring John Rain, a half Japanese, half American former soldier turned free lance assassin.

In this compelling novel, Rain teams up with Dox, a former Marine sniper, and Delilah, an Israeli covert agent to bring down some very bad guys, specifically an Israeli who is helping other really bad guys build bombs that have killed hundreds and threaten to kill many more. As Rain and Dox move through Manila, Hong Kong, Bangkok, and points in between, the bodies pile up. Eisler can sure write action scenes as the guns, knives, furniture, and hands become lethal weapons.

The plot is tight, the characters are vivid, but I just didn’t get into the whole thing.  Felt a bit laborious to get to the end. Probably won’t revisit John Rain again.
