Catalog of Unabashed Gratitude, Ross Gay, 2015

A National Book Award finalist in poetry, Gay teaches at Indiana U. and has written an intriguing and engaging book of poems.  Most are enjambed as a single, long column with some intricate and creative wordplay.  The poems about nature and his childhood were wonderful, but the latter part of the book was more abstract and left me less enthused.  A fine first effort from a poet whom we will hear more from in the future.
