An Architectural Alphabet: The Library of Congress, 2011
A beautifully rendered A to Z featuring photographs of details of the Jefferson Building begun in 1873 and opened in 1897, featuring the work of more than 50 painters, sculptors, decorative artists and artisans. Each letter is represented by an example from the library’s collection of 15th and 16th C illuminated manuscripts to Prang’s Standard Alphabets (1866). Aesthetically pleasing and educational with many new architectural terms.
