A woman with two hands on her face.

A Death in Summer, Benjamin Black 2011

John Banville’s nom de plume writes his fourth Dr. Quirke novel—another dark and despair-filled tale of pedophilia, adultery, and murder set in the cold, damp gray of Dublin and the Irish countryside.  A soupcon of anti-Semitism colors this tale of Richard Jewell’s murder by his French wife.  Phoebe Rose, Inspector Hackett all make appearances.  Good story but dark!
