Another set of short stories about the immigrant experience in America—this time, the Dominican Republic.  Yunior is a repeating character—a dark-skinned, second child growing up in poverty but achieving academic credentials while retaining his woman-chasing ways. Hard to follow the Spanish and DR argot, but some jewels, especially the two final and longer stories—“Miss Lora” and “The Cheater’s Guide to Love.” Autobiographical, graphic, moving—an excellent collection.
