A moveable feast : an autobiography of ernest hemingway

A Moveable Feast: The Restored Edition, Ernest Hemingway, 1964 & 2009

What can you say about Hemingway at age 22-26 living in 1970’s Paris?  Poor, talented, in love (turns out with Pauline as well as Hadley), rubbing shoulders with Gertrude Stein, Ezra Pound, Ford Maddox Ford, Zelda and F. Scott Fitzgerald, writing in cafes, skiing in Austria, driving through Spain—very romantic and expressed clearly and in the language he was discovering through his short stories before he wrote The Sun Also Rises.  An engaging portrait of a man, a time, and a city. Hemingway refers to Simenon’s novels as top notch! Also learned that his story “My Old Man” was included in the 1922 edition of Best Short Stories though it had not yet been published.
