The Wrong Side of Goodbye, Michael Connelly, 2016
Connelly and his hero, Harry Bosch, never disappoint. This rather thin tale of a wealthy man in failing health hiring Harry to find his heir, is bolstered by a parallel search by Harry for the Screen Cutter, a serial rapist in San Fernando where Bosch is a part-time volunteer detective. By the story’s end, he’s solved the heir question, solved the murder of the wealthy man, saved his partner’s life, and caught the rapist. Not a bad book’s work.
